Hi, did you check the size of the float needle vale? If you buy any service kit it comes I think with only 1.75 needle, the symptom is like running out of fuel at wide open throttle. For a large engine like 2800 - 3000cc you need 2.50 needle set.

Micha -05 makes a very good observation, the head lights on MkI A+B have no provision for relays meaning the full load of the head lights passes through the switch causing the contacts to burn over time..
On my 3000E 1972 I added x2 additional relay for headlamp low beam and front spot lights, these I located on the right side of the engine bay where the factory fitted the Hella relay for the spot / fog lamp option.

Quicksilver exhausts in the UK do the full correct exhaust for MkI 3000GT / RS3100 and also RS2600 both in stainless steel, price around £3000..

The anti roll bar screws on MkIII Capris are not imperial thread they are 1.25 fine metric thread .. tensile strength listed above 8.8 - 12.9 is correct, th e use of course thread 1.50 is not recommended, the tensile strength of a fine thread is greater when used in both tension and shear loads, this is why 1.25 is preferred for safety belt mounting .. choose carefully!

Greetings from the UK Timo, .. So on one side is the axle pushing on the bump rubber, maybe one bump rubber is missing and both leaf springs are weak, one side sits on the rubber and ones goes too far?

Thank you Micha, I am very grateful for your help with this, maybe I can show you the final result at Speyer in 2021!

Hi Guys
Please can anybody show me the Ford wiring diagram for alternator with external voltage regulator? I have a LHD Capri in UK and our manual does not show this circuit.. thank you!

Another quality Capri video, I really should be busy in my garage.. : Laola:

Your looks really good ..... I would take a very nice car immediately as he stands there

the braking behavior is certainly on the tires. What did he have? 165s or 185s?
This is how Polo and Co roll off the production line today.
For the GT in the UK we had 185/70R13 on 5 1/2 J, the smaller car had 165/80R13 on 5J

I once measured compression before adjusting the valve. There were on 4 cylinders 8 bar on 2 were 5-6 bar. However, the valves on the cylinders had to be readjusted. Incidentally, a 2.3 V6 108 Ps. The oil consumption has let me think of piston rings.
It's a pity. The engine runs pretty well otherwise. Happy to drive and I recently drove 181 km / h on the highway. That he packs that I would not have thoughtI should correct a mistake with my first comment, I was thinking of the PCV on the SOHC motor, the V6 is in the valve cover, also if you have oil consumption trouble I would check the intake manifold gasket is not leaking oil from the cylinder heads down the intake tracts, this I suffered on 2.8i many years ago. Ford recommended re-torque of manifold bolts at 24.000 mile service!

Hello,
from my Capri it smokes from the oil filler neck. If you remove it, the valve cover is full of smoke. This happens pretty fast even if he is not warm.
Is that normal to that extent? What are the reasons for that.
Many thanks
Hi. I would first check the crankcase PCV [Positive Crankcase Ventilation] valve, it is located low down on the side of the engine block in an oval metal housing, the valve is in the end of the hose from the inlet manifold, if you remove the valve and shake it, it should rattle, if it does not it is stuck from carbon accumulation and will need washing out or replacing.
I this does not cure you problem try changing the engine oil, it will gradually accumulate fuel and condensation [moisture] particularly if not being used frequently or driven far enough to warm up.
I the worst case it may be that your engine piston rings and cylinders are badly worn and it may be time for a rebuild?
Good luck with your investigation !

Hi Thomas, thank you for the welcome..
You have two fine looking Capri's there.. maybe one day I will get the chance to try driving an RS2600, only a few in the UK, shame because it is much nicer than the RS3100, I like the video Ford made of the Maize RS this summer, the car sounds fantastic!

looks nice
Dream car for me, would love the Maize Koln RS2600 but out of my price reach, but this one is OK!

Really love your red MkI .. GT blackout paint is awesome! : Thumbup:
Really love your red MkI.. GT blackout paint is awesome !
I like the GT paint for the MkI, I think this was only for the German build cars, my other MkI is a Broadspeed Bullit, this has Daytona Yellow paint with the black bonnet!

schicker Capri, schöne Farbe. Willkommen im Forum.
Danke! Yes.. 2000cc could be a bottle of fizzy drink! Normally I prefer a larger capacity engine, but I like this 2000 V6, sounds like the big motor but not too much fuel..
