Sorry if I'm skeptical about using any child in my engine ...: Hmm:
I guess you would have to rinse out the pipes several times with clear water before using again ...?
Yes! I understand your concern completely .. I do not know what products are available or permissible in Germany, we have products here in the UK for cleaning patio and paving .. I use this 50/50 mix with fresh water .. first [v6] then I remove the thermostat from my Essex engine [with the cologne you would need to remove the thermostat and refit the cover!] and fill the mixture in through the thermostat housing, I will leave this for 30 min the first time then drain in a container, you will see the mixture is turning orange / brown in color, then I will make a plug for the lower radiator hose and in this I fit a connector for our garden pants, then I flush back with fresh water only until clear. I do not leave the mixture in this way for a long time is flushed so. finally I refill with fresh 50/50 and the car is running cooler in hot weather

Yes, many hours work, I put the car with a garage nearly two years ago and they work on it when time is spare. soon I will bring it home to piece it back together, I have the engine, transmission and wiring to repair, then comes the hard part to find the material to repair the seats!IPAD DOWNLOAD 16TH AUGUST 2018 072.jpgIPAD Download December 2017 039.jpg

Hello, I am a new member from the UK, this thread about engine cooling is very interesting.. one thing I have not seen discussed is about cleaning the cooling system [flushing] to remove accumulated corrosion from the water jacket. A build up of corrosion in the engine reduces the cooling capacity, this is common to all engines and is a consequence of using poor quality coolant, not changing the coolant often or poor coolant mixture which reduces the level of corrosion inhibitor. The V6 engine Essex/Cologne is very much at risk of this because of the shape of the water jacket.
Ford have put in to the water jacket plugs for draining the cylinder block [Essex x1] [Cologne x2] but often these are not noticed and are never removed, when I change the coolant on my Capri's I always remove these plugs and run the engine through with de-scaling liquid [mild acid] to remove the rust..

Love that deep Rostyles!
The wheels I think are originally from the MkIII Cortina [Taunus] 5 1/5" width with 175/70R13 Pirelli tyres and where already on the car when I bought it from Spain, the wheels had been refurbished in Portugal and have a very good finish, I will leave them gold as I think it suits the car very nicely.. this is the body shell now painted..IMG_2640 (393).jpg

Nice day! Thank you for the permission to join. I live in the UK and restore a 1971 2000GT XL, which was rebuilt in Cologne. I own the car since March 2017 when I brought it from Avila in Spain. The car is evergreen and has olive green interior trim, I would like to ask for help in the near future. Thanks John [please excuse my use of google for translation!]
Hi John, welcome to board and thanks for the help with the Mk1 calendar. Wishing luck with the olive parts! Post some pictures of you
